So, yeah, I'm into
paintball...
Just a little. My wife and I maintain the World And Regional Paintball Information Guide (WARPIG), which was the web's first page about paintball, and continues to grow as the largest. As if that weren't enough, I also write on and off for Action Pursuit Games, Paintball Magazine, Paintball News, and Paintball Sports International. I have also served as editor of Paintball Magazine, a contributing editor for Paintball Industry, and Paintball Player's Bible (now known as Paintball 2 Xtremes). Paintball Industry called me "The Paintball Guru of the Internet", and Paintball Ragazine (the most entertaining paintball mag ever produced) has dubbed me the "Chief Information Officer of Paintball", but I try not to let those titles go to my head (I finally stopped wearing that camouflage guru turban last month :-). I'm really just an average joe that loves talking about paintball on the internet, and in real life. |

My personal paintball page is woefully aged because my wife Dawn and I have many other paintball related things keeping us busy, so you can count on statements like "we went here last year" to really mean "we went here in 1995." Dawn is the webmaster of www.WARPIG.com (I handle site tech support and producing PigTV). In any given month we're on the road half time or more, traveling to various paintball events. 1999 was an explosive year for our involvement in the sport, and there are a lot of thank yous that go with that. All of the WARPIG sponsors top the list. Their support has helped the site to grow without completely bankrupting us, and helped make on-scene coverage of every NPPL event and several other major tournaments possible. To Curtis Wong at CFW Enterprises for believing in us with the launch of the Paintball Magazine. To Al Iba owner of I&I Sports for his constant support of WARPIG, of us as players and underwriting travel for things like interviewing Dennis Tippmann Sr. about the Flatline. To Paul, Dean and the crew at Paintball Long Island for having us as generals at their big game in 99, and Dawn as general in 2000 (leading a team of 700 players against Dawn's 700 was the most amazing day of paintball I have ever played). To Emily from Paintball Sports International for referring to Dawn and I as two of the nicest people in paintball - there is little else to which we could aspire. To Focus International for all of their help and support of our Skyball coverage. To Renick, Robin, Danny, Bonnie, and Liz for making the Bad Boyz Toyz WARPIG roast a fun weekend every year. To Dan and Liz Bonebrake, and Russ Maynard for their support and help in our GWS/Pan Am Coverage. To Team Brass Eagle for having a place for me at the Zap Amateur Open. For Spikes 5150 for having a place for me at World Cup where we finished 7th in our division in 99. To all of the WARPIG Factory Team's sponsors who fueled at World Cup 2000, and to Jim DiPaola, Simon Stevens, Joe Strazante, Matt Huntly, Patrick Spohrer, and Paul Bollenbach for being great teammates. To Jeff at Traumahead Sports for promoting WARPIG on their TV show. And finally a major thanks to all the people who use WARPIG and make it what it is - a community of players on the net. My custom LCD Rainmaker has turned a few heads with it's LCD display and programmable control board. I've been consulting with a couple of companies. Remember, no Rainmaker is complete without a VXT Icebox, from USA Performance Products. OK, there are other alternatives now, like Miscreants end caps, but I designed the Icebox and it was the first after market product for the Rainmaker, so I'm proud of it.
We took a couple of paintball road trips down south way back in 95; here
are the details, and a few photos.
